About

A Cry for Men was founded on February 24, 2015 by Reshell Rowe. She achieved an undergrad in Social Science and a Master’s in Secondary Education. Very active on the church scene, Praise and Worship leader, Chlidren’s Ministry teacher, an intercessor are just a couple of her accomplishments. Furthermore, she has been teaching in the public school system for nearly five years; teaching kids who are fatherless or worse in terms of their home lives. She considers her experience in the field of teaching as bittersweet because of all the joy yet all the challenges she has encountered with her students over her career.
“I love what I do!”
I wanted to be an educator ever since I was a child, to change lives and to make a difference. I fell in love with my students at Innovations Middle Charter School. I want them to be the best that they can be each and every day. They look to me for academic instructor and counselor. The majority of my students come from broken homes, some even living out of vehicles. Many do not have any father figures to look up to because their father is consciously absent from their lives, in prison, or passed on. I cannot change these situations for them, but I can certainly change the way they view success and the way they see the world. That they themselves have the power to change it!
I was inspired to start this group after hearing the heartbreaking testimony of a friend who is near to my heart. He has endured similar experiences as my students regarding a lack of father-figures. Even though he bottled much of it in, his paternal void affected him in so many ways. He was struggling with acceptance of who he was as a person and where the future might take him. He was unable to separate his past from his present. As a result, it pushed him to walk away from it all: his wife, his kids, and position in the church.
A Cry for Men aids gentlemen who have experience inadequacy in their lives. A Cry for Men is consist of Pastors, entrepreneurs, prophets, deacons, and exhorters. Each of these men has experience hardships throughout their lives. They are here to help gather and guide other men who are facing similar challenges.
